Youth Programs
Pre-school-School Age -Teens

Our Youth Programs are offer the chance to try something new, meet new friends and improve on what you already know. Pre-school classes include parent child and child classes while school age and teen programs provide the chance for individuals to grow.

Pre-school programs such as Toddler time, Music for me and Little Chefs provide your child with social interaction and a chance to try something new or simple be active.

School age Programs include sports development, leagues and fitness classes. Teen 'n' Tween Strength can teach your child to use our exercise equipment safely and set them on their way toward lifelong health. KidShape is a great family program that teaches health, nutrition and exercise in a fun way. Don't forget about our camps, from sports to day camp to Fun Days, our new school day off program, your kids are sure to have a blast with our fantastic staff and wall planned programs.

Teen Programs include fitness, such as Teen 'n' Tween or social events such as Teen Nights and the new Teen Center. Looking for something more, ask about our Teen Leaders Program starting fall 2011. Beginning October 15th, 2011 the Y will also begin the 7th Grade Initiative by offering a free youth membership to each 7th grader in Indiana County.

Cheernastics

Come show your spirit! This program is designed to help your child with coordination and teach them cheerleading and dance skills. During this program the participants will learn cheers, tumbling, stunting, dance and more!
Ages: Grades K - 6
When: Thursdays
Time: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.


Teen 'n' Tween Fitness
Our updated program is more comprehensive to provide students ages 11 - 15 the resources necessary to understand how to use the fitness facilities as well as how to perform various exercises.

This class is required for anyone under 16 who
wishes to use the Fitness Center and Functional
Fitness Room without a parent present.


Tiny Tumblers
This is your chance to participate in a program with your child in a variety of fun activities that develop motor and listening skills. This introductory class features tumbling, climbing, jumping and more. This a
great class to start building Healthy lifestyles at a young age.
Ages: 2 - 5
When: Mondays
Time: 10 -10:30 a.m.

Arts At The Y
Age appropriate crafts to entertain kids. Different themes every time!
Ages: 3 - 6 & 7 - 10 years
When: Tuesday nights during Zumba
Time: 7 - 8 p.m.




Sports Mix

This program will focus on basic skill development in a variety of sports. Sports like basketball, football, soccer and baseball will be covered with a focus on the improvement of fundamental skills, teamwork and leadership.
Ages: 3 -5 Time: 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
When: Thursday


Music For Me

Sing, Dance and get your first taste of the wonderful world of music. We will make musical instruments to take home every week. Parents are encouraged to sit back and watch.
Ages: K- 6
When: Thursdays Oct. 31- December 18
Time: 4:30- 5:30 p.m.


Teen Nights

Safe, fun activities for your teens! The Y will close at 6:00 p.m. to members and be open only to teens in 6th through 9th grade for great activities including swimming , sports, board games and Wii Tournaments. Concessions will be offered at a nominal cost. Must arrive by 6:30 p.m. to participate. Please register so we can better prepare for the fun.
When: March 19 and May 21
Time: 6:00 - 9:30 p.m.


Just For Me!
A special time for your child to begin socializing with other children and an introduction to crafts and games. Parents are encouraged to sit back and observe.
Ages: 2 - 4
When: Monday & Thursday
Time: 10:45 - 11:15 a.m.

KidShape

a family-based pediatric weight management program for families with overweight children. KidShape is a nine-week fun filled program that will start you and your whole family on a lifetime of health and improved self-image. The instructors are enthusiastic, the lessons are kid-friendly and there are always games and time to exercise. KidShape teaches and motivates the entire family to eat healthy and improve physical activity. This is a nine-week program that meets once a week for 2 hours. Teen Open Gym

Teens between the ages of 12-17 are invited to come to teen open gym. This program will be held on half of the gym for two hours. Two different sports or activities will be held each session.
Ages: 12 - 17
When: Tuesdays
Time: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.



Birthday Parties
Let the Y host your next birthday party...
Let your child enjoy the gym, pool or both for their birthday party at the Y for 2 or 3 hours. In addition to the time in the pool and /or gym, you get time in our multipurpose room for the cake and ice cream you provide (plus set up, tear down). Give us a call to find out about availability and find out more.
PARTY OPTIONS:
2 hr party (Select room and gym or pool):
$120 Member, $160 Non-member
3 hr party (pool, room and gym):
$190 Member, $255 Non-member
2 hr Private Rental (1 hr in pool, 1 hr in room):
$190 Member, $255 Non-member
All parties are priced based on 20 participants and 4 adult chaperones (additional participants may attend for an additional fee). Tables, chairs, tablecloths, balloons and a YMCA shirt for the birthday child are provided. You have access to the party room 15 minutes before and after your party for set-up and clean up. A staff person will run the gymnasium activities and assist in all other areas.

Little Chefs
Kids will enjoy making, and eating, their own creations. Delicious and simple projects will be the focus of each class. They will love sharing with mom
Ages: 3-5

Time: 10:00 - 11 a.m.


Soccer Fundamentals
Soccer FUN-damentals is the Y’s new soccer clinic for children ages 4 through 12. Youth will learn to prefect the basic fundamental foot skills necessary for soccer while having fun. Every soccer player will benefit from the foot skills, touch passing, dribbling and shooting skills taught in this class. Each player will need to wear closed toed gym shoes, shin guards and bring a water bottle to every clinic. The Soccer FUN-damentals Soccer Clinic will be taught by a licensed soccer coach. No experience necessary and it’s a great jump start to our soccer league.
